President Bush's Radio Address

President George W. Bush's Radio Address is a weekly show that covers a wide range of American topics from the view of the President. There has been a Presidential Address via radio since FDR:

"Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who became president in 1933, used the radio to deliver regular updates to the American public."

The first President to take office broadcast via radio was Harding, check this site out for more:

"President Harding Installed a Radio in the White House
February 8, 1922
February 8, 1922, was a big day at the White House. On this day President Harding had a radio installed. At the time, radio was the hottest technology there was, and the White House was on the cutting edge. Almost two years later, Calvin Coolidge, who followed Harding, was the first president to broadcast from the White House. Coolidge's address for Washington's Birthday was heard on 42 stations from coast to coast.

Before that historic broadcast, radio had played a big role in Coolidge's victory in the 1924 presidential election. The night before the election, Coolidge made history when the largest radio audience ever tuned in to the broadcast of his final campaign speech. Coolidge won the election easily, and in March, Americans listened for the first time to their president take the oath of office on the radio. "

Where Do You Get Your Current Events News?

Google Current Events

In my travels throughout this wondrous World and America in particular :), I have received news from many sources. As I have gotten older, I realized that you get a different "take" on the news from one source as compared to others.

News comes in different formats, with different "spins", in different "styles"...

"Just The Facts Ma'am" :)

Or as video news, a news channel, breaking news, World news, news fact, news opinion, emailed news, radio news, political, weather, historical news, the list is endless.

The same story viewed from individual people will come out as an entirely different story, with different perspectives, a different "take" on the same situation, generally leaning towards the likes or dislikes of the current reporter you are listening to at the time.

Now, I am not "faulting" any reporter, I actually respect reporters and there responsibility to the World. They all have a big weight on their shoulders to find out what the truth is. By reporting the news, they have the responsibility to get it right the first time.

Just be sure to know the sources, do some research on your own to find the right news and current events sources for your current events information.

I have listed some of my personal sources for the current events listings:

"Thoughts for Independence Day

Posted on Jul 03, 2008 10:21:24 AM | Wayne Hale | 1 Comments

Taking a little different tack today -- tomorrow is official birthday of the United States of America and it is time for Americans - and the rest of the world - to remember why the United States is as it is

At NASA we fall under the Constitution; yet in 1789 nobody believed that flying to the moon or the planets would ever be possible. Yet that controlling document says that the national government is to "promote the general Welfare" and thus it allows the United States to pursue exploration of realms unimaginable two centuries ago.

Here are two short stories that are worth pondering if you want to understand America." Read More: http://blogs.nasa.gov/cm/blog/waynehalesblog/posts/post_1215094883929.html
